Imagine this: 175 acres of land containing 18,000 different lego models, more than 40 million lego bricks and a dinosaur by the name of Brad. Well luckily, you won’t have too imagine too much longer. Legoland will have all this and more for you this summer!

Located an hour and a half away from the Big Apple, Legoland will set itself apart from LEGOLAND Discovery Centre Toronto with unique rides and opportunities for families.

What to expect:

Aside from the175 acres of legos, there will be more for families to look forward to. Families can prepare themselves for 8 bricktastic roller coaster rides; one of those being the never before seen Professor Bricks Factory Adventure Ride.

According to Andy Marvin, Legoland”s Creative Lead, “This ride is brand new and unique, and does not exist anywhere else. I don’t want to spoil the surprise, but there will be ways for guests to interact with their favorite legos”.

As you make your way through the amusement park, you will land yourself in “Miniland”. “Miniland” is a section designated for iconic landscapes. Visitors will be able to see a LEGO Statue of Liberty, Empire State Building and many other local landscapes.

Adjacent to the park, there will be a Legoland hotel for families to stay with 210 rooms.

Kicking Covid:

As the park plans to open this summer, Legoland is being mindful of the NYS Covid guidelines. Divisional Director Stephanie Johnston shared that the park is set to open with a “phased opening model”. Parts of the park will open gradually and capacity will be controlled.

“There will be social distancing and compliance to NYS Covid guidelines”.

According to Matt Berman, the Public Relations Manager for Legoland, the park has been in the works since 2017. Legoland had been scheduled to open this past summer, but was halted due to the outbreak of COVID.

“The delay in opening of the park due to COVID has been the most difficult part.”

At peak, Legoland is projecting to see up to 10 thousand people per day. To stand in accordance with NYS guidelines, the park will be at 33% capacity, require temperature checks and not permit anyone with a reading of 104 degrees or over. It is safe to say that the park is doing its part to make sure Legoland will be fun and enjoyable, but also a safe place for families as well.

See You There:

All in all, it seems like Legoland Amusement Park Resort is in great shape to open this summer. The team has taken COVID into consideration and made the necessary arrangements. As summer slowly approaches, there is still a large section of the park under construction. Even though they struggled with COVID last summer, the Legoland team seems very excited and eager to knock it out the park this summer. Keep building Legoland! It’s going to be bricktastic!
